Our turtle setup.

Moved the turtles into the 55 the other day and bought a bigger filter, trying out the fluval U4. I was going to get a canister filter but really didnt want to dish out the $150. Belive it or not we got these little feeder gold fish around 8 months ago and all 3 are still here I guess they were just to fast, now they are the size of a good shinner and still getting bigger.

Re: Our turtle setup.

those turtles look happy and healthy.

I am enjoying my new red ear slider and hope to get him in my 55 gallon next week when the filter arrives. I went with the Fluval 306 canister for $110. total. The Pennplex another member likes was $90.

Fluval had a video to show me how to set it up and the girl on the phone was real nice so I bought from them.

This turtle I took on is starting to cost me money !

Re: Our turtle setup.

Yea, were learning the bigger they get the more they cost. I was thinking about getting a little cleaner fish/bottom feeder to help but im not sure if the turtles will try and eat it cuz it will be the newest thing. They dont even try to eat gold fish anymore. They swim right next to eachother at feeding time. I was looking at those filters to but seen how much stuff I had to replace in it kinda put me off. This one is working alright, the water gets a little cloudy at times but eventually clears up.
