Re: trouble in la
After seeing every snake at this facility, while searching with Fish and Wildlife for other snakes that would be in violation of Louisiana law, I can assure you that he doesnt even have 1/3 of the stuff he claims to breed on his website.... and it has been officially verified that David Beachemin is just an alias.....he took his wifes last name when he moved here..... his real name is Damon Heynan,,, the same Damon that has a bench warrant in AZ...... Allen Parish sherrif dept called Arizona to see if they wanted to extradite and they said that they didn't want him...LOL he is our problem now...
This was perhaps the worst experience Ive ever had involving reptiles.... What's really sad is the rest of the snakes under 12 feet fell through the cracks..... there is no jurisdictional body in Louisiana that has the authority to sieze them..... and the Humane society said they don't care about the reptiles...... they only wanted the dogs and cats to be siezed..
I saw several other disturbing things like severely emaciated baby retics.... gravid late stage boa constrictors crammed in hatchling tubs, barely able to move about to give birth... they had no functioning sewer... or septic tank... they actually had a large container outside where they *Pooped* in... and they burned all their human feces in a firepit.... Also found in the firepit was remains of several larger vertabrate animals (snakes, dogs and cats)...
The confiscated snakes are being picked up by Robbie Kez from Glades... and they will be sold to raise money for non profit organizations..... I think this sort of situation happens alot more than we think..... we need to let these guys knos that us as an industry don't accept this sort of business...

Re: trouble in la
What a shame. Thats heartbreaking indeed. I wouldnt want my worst enemy living in those conditions. Im extremely happy that the authorities were involved in this one. I would be vary wary of adopting any of those animals though. No telling what they have.

OMG, what a shame, I only hope these animals get the proper care they need.

America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She well knows that by enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standards of freedom. – John Quincy Adams (1821)

Wow, I just got back from Louisiana last night. That's horrible. Wish I could have done something to help. So the other 200+ snakes are being left in the residence?

Re: trouble in la
not that i am in any way accepting or congratulating them, but for the conditions, those are actually pretty decent lookin animals. again, the people should be thrown into jail, and forced to live in that situation, but inspite of the living conditions, the animals look (according to the pics anyway), in fairly healthy and good condition. thank god

My god that is horrible...I really wish I could help some how...I would so love to rescue some snakes. It's sad that reptiles aren't taken in and given a second chance at the Humane Society...

I would hardly call stuck Sheds and mites a good condition.

Re: trouble in la
what i was talking about was that stuck sheds and mites are very easy cures, and that overall systemic health and body mass looks decently healthy. please dont take what i say out of context, im not sticking up for them, neither am i saying the snakes are in perfect health, im saying given the conditions, they arent emaciated, they are not in any immdiate danger of dying
