Koda CAN be good....
Just a video I snapped yesterday of Koda during his mean routine... He's pretty obedient considering his other issues when he has them...
This is Koda 49% of the time... lol... the other 50% is him being crazy hyper and playing... and the last 1% is his evil aggressive self...
But here's the video... He can be a good boy....

Re: Koda CAN be good....
haha, that would be expensive as heck to do
and I have been speaking with a trainer in San Antonio area, but since I work everyday, I have to set up something when we are both available on a weekend day for a consultation

From what I saw of the video... he definitely respects you even though you've had your moments.
Get a good trainer and you two could really go places.

Re: Koda CAN be good....
yea... I really hope so... Because he is a good boy most of the time... I was working with him tonight and teaching him to "spin" lol... it was cute... and every time he'd do a good command I'd throw his tennis ball and praise him... He had a great time... Them I did some more sits, downs, shakes, spins with clicker and treats... He had a great time and after nibbling on Kaylee for a minute, he's now passed out on the floor

Yay! That's awesome news! The main reason I'm being so pushy about this is because my first dog was a 1% dog too. Totally mellow and cuddly 99% of the time and aggressive 1%. At first it wasn't enough to worry me and I thought I could handle it myself. But it escalated fast. He attacked a child and a mailman within a day of each other and we were forced to euthanize him. There's not a day that goes by that I don't miss my Boomer buddy and wonder if I could have done something to save him. I don't want Koda to share his fate and I don't want anyone to feel the same pain and regret.

That situation is all too similar to what I've gone through. That's also why I'm so pushy/borderline obnoxious about situations like these...

Yeah I know you had something similar happen. I've never cried as much in my life as I did that day. It's so hard to talk about. I fell asleep crying last night... Who could have thought this sweet face could do any wrong?

Re: Koda CAN be good....
Oh my god you guys are making me burst into tears.
Sakara, I am glad you are doing something about Koda. I couldn't even imagine if I had to put one of my dogs down or give them away because of a 1% aggression issue...

It's not an easy choice, but that dog sent me to the hospital.
Still, it didn't make it any easier.

Re: Koda CAN be good....
He is really adorable. I can see how you could get attached to a dog like that.
Please don't hit him any more. It pains me to read that.

Re: Koda CAN be good....
I think she understands now that dogs just... you can't hit 'em.
You just have to work on getting that trust and bond back. He'll turn around. It just takes time.
