Is she strange or what?
My snake will not soak in her water dish or use her hide. Is she strange or is this just a snake thing? Everyone else seems to have snakes who soak and use their hides all the time. The only soak mine does is when we put her into a bucket LOL..

Could be that the water and hide are not in comfortable places for her, water over the heat mat, hide in the cold, etc. Try moving them around every few days, or add other hides and another water dish at the opposite end, see if she is more inclined to use the hides and water dish then. You could also drape some greenery over the water dish, to make it a little less open and more secure for her.
Some don't like to soak though and may only do it for shed or mites if needed, so don't panic.

Yes try putting a hide on both ends of the enclosure. Also boas do not soak all of the time, mine rarely ever soak..

I got a baby female boa that still won't use anything yet. I figure she'll settle in and start using the hides and the water bowl.

No, it's not a strange thing. The majority of my snakes don't bother with soaking. By majority, I mean all except two, and even those two don't soak all that much.

My two BCI are night and day when it comes to this. He is ALWAYS in the hide, and she spends LOTS of time in the water. I guess its her way of bein girly and takin long baths, and his way of hiding from her so he doesn't have to do chores! Just like us humans aren't they?
