Most of the time you will find an escaped snake within 5 ft of the tank. At least thats about as far as mine has ever ventured.

hey guys i have a story about lazarus. one time she she escaped from her enclosure by breaking through plexiglass. i think she used a clilmbing branch to push off of and broke about a 1' X 1' section of plexiglass. i would have never thought shed be strong enough to actually break through. but i did find her way up high hiding on some shelves. she also used to love to break through screens, so now i use hardware cloth, it seems to be working this far..lol

We had a 3 1/2 ft columbian escape from his cage one day. Next to the computer I was working at we had a glass tank with 3 bearded dragons in it. Since it was too tall for them to escape we had left the screen on one side off (easier to feed and clean the cage). As I'm working away I notice the dragons are going crazy, banging against the glass, running around ect (the tank was on the floor and to the rear of me so I couldn't see it). Look inside and Bronson our columbian was cruising in their tank. They were less than impressed.
We had kept Bronson in a melamine cage (waiting for plastic cages from Moon Struck Exotics) and he had bent out the metal vents in the back of the cage and poked through the metal screen behind the vent. Obviously Bronson is now in a newer more secure cage.
