After eating, snakes pretty much don't want to be bothered. So they'll do that. Do you have hides for him in his cage? If not, get a couple for each end. Also, if you have a UTH (under tank heatpad) make sure it's not too hot or he could burn himself if he's buried himself to lie right on top of it.

Perfectly normal for a redtail to do this! You may notice this also befroe he goes into a shed! Younger snake's do it more than older snake's! Nothing to worry about!

Oh yeah? Well I thought it first. So there!!!
Don't worry, bud. It is natural for alot of snakes to burrow and hide themselves. Especially after meals, around shed times, and during acclimation periods.
Oh yeah. WELCOME TO RTB!!!

At one month of age, a boa is near the bottom of the "food chain". Since they're potential prey for just about any other animal, baby boas do what comes naturaly to them- they hide. It's not uncommon for a baby boa to spend most of it's time either in a hide box or under the substrate.

I have a little Colombian that rarely ever comes out of her hide. She loves it in there. But when she does come out, sheis all over the place. That and aggressive as can be.

I agree with the others. Very normal for them to bury themselves in substrate. Welcome to the site! Stick around and enjoy.
