In the site's contact us button an email was sent that basically was looking for information to "take down" Jeff Barringer's site aka kingsnake.com . The email was not sent by one of our members also [ not that i would think to uphold it and what they are looking for from RTB at all even if it were though..just an fyi here] This email was sent the other day and I also responded to it as well at that time. I thought that I had set what the standpoint of RTB in relation to getting involved with something like what is being asked of the person clearly at that time [ without "dragging/taking down the ks site/Jeff Barringer in an unethical manner that would "drag down" the RTB site as well by doing such.] Morti and Shane were cc'd on the reply also. Morti sent an email to me saying that the reply was funny.. or some other type word as that..LOL. Here's a copy of the reply that was sent to the person...

Our site was developed as a result of "former' members of the ks site actually.
That is where most of the past "issues' were promulgated from. Being that
RTB started as a BOA forum , and has now also grown from such even at this
point, AND that ks had a boa forum on it as well...There were bound to be
some "conflicts of interest" during the formulative time of RTB between the
two sites. RTB has since "moved on" in regards to such forms of "rivalry"
and has made it's "mark" in the herping world at this point in time also.
We have remained among the top 5 sites in the listing for "Reptile Top Sites"
from the "get go". Usually placing in the top 3 sites even most of the time.
This in and of itself has shown that our members enjoy coming to our site
for their herp needs. Our forums are regularly monitored by our Admins &
Mods and as a result of such, there is not a high level of "anger" or "disturbances"
on our site's forums as can be found elsewhere within online forums.
In relation to the ks site.. RTB has no ongoing qualm[s] at this time
in relation to Jeff Barringer's site. We at RTB do not frown upon the mere
mentioning of the ks site on our forums. MAny of our members have refered
others to the ks site and still do, myself included. People will decide for
themselves what it is exactly that they are looking for in a herp related
site. If a certain site does not meet their expectations, then they will
not go there any further..or so one would think such would be the case. We
also have members that are also members of the ks site as well. They are
not treated in any type of differential type manner for having continued
to visit the ks site at all by RTB members and/or Admins.
We at RTB know where we now stand in the ol herping community and have
no "security issues" in relation to any other herping sites and/or forums
that may exist , such as ks. We also do not wish to condone the digressive
style of action[s] which may be portrayed against another site, such as ks,
within the context of an attempt to "take such site down". I believe I speak
for all of our Admins and our site's owner, when I state that any other herping
site could be it's own downfall in/of it's own action/inaction[s] and needs
no assistance on the part of RTB in accomplishing such a venue of their own
demise. Such involvement on the part of RTB would surely assist in such a
thing as a potential "downfall" in relation to the RTB site is all.

Now I had thought that the reply would suffice for the person in "getting a clue" that RTB is NOT looking to become involved in some "trashing/corruption etc" in relation to ks.com at all. Now I had thought that my reply held some level of "tact" in getting the message across that RTB has had "issues" with ks, BUT that we would NOT become involved in something like what is being suggested by this person at all in relation to "taking doen" ks at all...AND that such is due to not wanting to "take doen" RTB at all by any involvement in such either....
Without being too blunt so as to sound like an #$%^&#$%^&#$%^& that is also [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img] [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img] I was allthough going for a "diplomatic" withdrawal of involvement in my reply to the person. Did I miss that or did the person just miss it was all ?
Now for what it is I am looking for from you guys/gals here in relation to the newest email they have sent....
What is your thought[s] and/or comment[s] in relation to the newly proposed question of becoming involved with such a thing ? I have not provided a reply as yet and would like to include some commentay from other admins as well in the next reply to this person also. [NOTE: I am NOT suggesting that RTB become involved with such a thing at all myself ! Just looking for further admin input on the matter is all.] I'll wait for your input before replying also. TYIA.
