A board of inquiry/herpdealer's blacklist is a monsterous undertaking that I would wish on nobody. In creating that forum, Rich has taken on a tremendous legal, ethical, and financial responsibility.
The time involved in moderating the BOI is daunting, and is a commitment that Rich cannot just shrug off for a day or two. In the past, he has asked me to keep an eye on the forum while he was away (unfortunately, I was out of town also). It has gotten to the point where Rich bought a laptop just to be able to moderate the forum when he is out of town.
Lawsuits are an inevitable byproduct of any such undertaking. When someone fels besmirched, they sue the owner of the mesage board in addition to the person who made the comments. I honestly don't think that rtb has the necessary funds to defend itself in such cases.
To be quite honest, I think that if Rich knew then what he knows now, he may have passed on starting the BOI. It's a noble idea, but not a very practicle undertaking.
