An act of God.
Unless something has dramatically changed in the past six months, TNW has not issued any class I permits to individuals in the private sector simce 1991. TN is a very unfriendly state when it comes to herps.

That is what I have heard as well from individuals there. But if you wish to try, you need to contact Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.

what do you think about the GA laws BW? do you think you should be required to have some sort of permit to keep native hots? i am not saying extreme laws like they appearently have in TN.

alabama is not bad .. you can keep mostly any native venomous there .. no permit .. but Exotic venomous .. you have to have a permit .. i think you have to get like 1000 hours at a zoo or something like that

That is a tough one. GA laws are odd. For native hots, there is no permit. For exotics, the permit is easy, but the requirements are virtually unattainable. I would prefer that all hots fall under a logical and attainable permit system. But I am not going to be the one to bring private hot keepers into the limelite here. It would be easy for them to just add natives to the permit. Oddly enough, it is the roundups that give me the right to keep in GA.
