Here are some shots that I took of some random hots. I hope you enjoy!

Man! I LOVE CORALS!

He is about 9 feet!

9 foot O. Hannah

Bitis nasicornis, the Rhino Viper, one of my personal favorites!

Forest Cobra

Canebrake (Timber) Rattlesnake

Nothin like a little Buzzworm! (Dusky Pygmy rattlesnake)

And not a hot, but a killer none the less! Nice Retic!
I am dreading to see how much room this takes up!

LOL! Boy is my face red! I looked in that first pic and went "WTF? A Coral and a Corn? In the same enclosure? I bet they don't get along." Then I realized, the whole idea there is for them NOT to get along!

THat corn was kindof an expensive feeder I usually feed my corals Corns or African House Snakes. But hey! Snakes gotta eat, and they LOVE Cornsnakes! you can see the coral was giving this guy a little kiss

Hey BW, KILLER snakes!! (pun intended)
But I have a question:
In that third picture, you have a 9 foot cobra, and you don't even know the name of one of the people holding it?!?!?!
Believe me, if any one is gonna help me handle ANY cobra, I'm sure as heck gonna know who they are!!!!
BTW That pic with the corn through me off for a second too...

I had just tubed it and John grabbed the other end. She just happened to be around and wanted to be in the picture. Would you say no to her? Seriously though, I would never do anything that would compromise the safety of myself, anyone around, or the snake. I am a safety nut! You don't get too many mistakes with a King Cobra that size!

Yeah Morti!
Nothing like a little corn on the cob to keep a snake from going hungry!
BW, those are all killer pics, as usual!
Good work!

Yeah, I would think racers would be cheaper feeders than corns although not by a whole lot. I've seen racers routinely listed for $5. Then, corals aren't giant snakes, they need pretty small prey overall. Garters and ribbon snakes, as well as watersnakes are usually pretty cheap too. Will yours eat lizards?
Boaguy12, they eat snakes in the wild, their metabolism is geared to cold blooded prey after millions of years of evolution. Now you know how all the tree huggers feel when they see us feed rodents to snakes...

I went to the Columbia Show looking for feeder snakes and I was able to get 6 Corns for $15. I could not pass that up. It was winter time and I did not have alot of other options. Of course a couple of the corns got too big to feed off, so I gave them away as pets. Corals are, in my opinion, one of the most difficult snakes to keep in captivity. They have very specialized food preferences and stress is a major factor that must be considered. I believe in offering my captives the sustenance that their bodies are designed for. For these two reasons, coral snakes are rarely seen in a venomous collection, and rarer still, survive. Coral snakes offer a welcome challenge to the Hot enthusiest who is willing to take the time and money to care for them properly. I take great joy in my Coral Snakes. I think that they are one of the best survivors in the US. Their secretive habits and long slender bodies lend them to their specified niche in the ecosystem. Good thing I didnt post the pictures of a friends King Cobra eating Red Tailed Ratsnakes, Ball Pythons, and Kingsnakes.
On a relate topic, Wyeth has decided to stop production of Coral Snake Antivenin. Apparently, just not enough people get bit to warrent the production. So now, in the event of a bite, the chances of a fatality are greatly increased. Yay!!!!!! Just another example of holding money above life. But that is just my little pet peave.
Back to the original topic. (I tend to ramble ) I am currently stockpiling a food supply before acquiring another Coral. I am considering getting some adult water snakes since they produce a great number of offspring. I can't wait to get my next Coral!

most of the exotics are from a Serpentarium that a friend of mine owns. I help out there when I can. All of the Native GA stuff is mine. I do venomous education for Emergency Personnel.

I saw in that early post about you feeding house snakes... That may be your best bet as they are ALWAYS breeding. At the reptile show I recently attended, one of the guys had a neodesha full of house snakes that were copulating at the show! Blew my mind.
