No numbers until we get there. I am anticipating a 25% mortallity rate from the ones that are rescued (better than the 100% that aren't). This is mainly due to the brutal and often illegal collection methods (such as the use of gas) and the fact that they are collected during brumation and are basically kept in a wooden box with no food or water for several months.

BW remember that starfish story you had on that roundup donation page? Keep that in mind as you do this (it will matter to the ones you save)...you might need something to draw upon when your in the middle of that whole thing. Nothing is ever what you think it will be---so be prepared for anything (if that's possible) and keep your mind on the goal.
Try not to focus on those that are just too dumb to live. You are doing a noble thing---and anyone with half a brain and half a heart would back you. I only wish I could go....NY is so far from everything
But really, from the bottom of my heart: Good Luck

It goes on well after the initial meeting, round-up and 'rescue'.
Still, meds to get for the ones that need it, fecals, vet care etc, feeders to buy for a time well afterwards.
Not to mention the time involved.. sure, it's volunteer but it still eats time from other aspects of homelife and personal collections as well as the mental stress from merely taking on such a big task.

Hey Eddie, that's really true. It will not be too late to help long after he rescues these guys.
