What species am I ?
Xtra points for guessing the ssp.
1 hint should give it away, if you were herping this continent you would want to have a Bill Branch field guide with you.
zip it B.W.

Looks to me like a stripe-bellied sandsnake (Psammophis subtaeniatus) or a Cape sandsnake Psammophis leightoni)?

Psammophis punctulatus?
My first guess was a Oxybelis, but when you said Bill Branch... gave it away.

That was quick, I like it, there is people that actually read books on this site
Psammophis subtaeniatus, right on the head
If you have ever worked with Psammophis you will never forget them.
I knew Branch would give it away

Do you sell these guys? What is the venom like on them? They seem like very interesting snakes, how is the keep?

I had a small group of some Psammophis sp back in 92-94, I have no idea which sp they were, but I kept them warm and dry, and they never really gave me any trouble.
Fed on small live fuzzies, were really really quick, never tried to bite.
Thats my exp with them.

Where did you get them from? How much did they go for? I'm really into the odd ball snakes.

They are actually finding them to be fairly hot snakes. The venom is more powerful than originally thought. No fatalities, but have had a few fairly bad bites.
Wholesale they run about $2
