that is a very big one.......i got bit by a cotton mouth when i was young and it left 2 marks on my wrist about 3 in apart it hurt like heck but thank god he never let out the juice

I've handled and relocated countless moccosins over the years. She is the heaviest by far that I have ever encountered anywhere. And to top it off...she has the disposition of a rabid wolverine. Brian let me put her back in the cage the other day after cleaning it. She puts quite a strain on a standard snakehook....She even bit the hook...something else I have never seen happen. I'm not knocking anyone's religion....but the preacher that thought he could free handle her and continue living would have had better luck with the rabid wolverine.

She is 48" and about 6 pounds. I really didn't have to sex her. 3 years ago she came from a snake handling church in KY after.....um...... testing a preachers faith. I obtained her 2 years ago. She has not been in contact with any other snake in 3 years. On Labor day,, she decided to drop 2 babies. Not hard to sex her then. But it almost got me bit by one of the little trapjaws since babies were the last thing I thought I would see! One of them died shortly after, and I still have the other of PK's babies, Pre-K [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img] I will try to get some new photos soon. Jeremy in DC has a 5' male conanti that may be coming down next season for a breeding loan. I need to breed her. I have so many people that want her babies. And bread with a 5' male (named Monstrosity), we can produced a super race of giant, evil, deadly Cottonmouths! BWAAHHAAAHAAAAA!!!!! I just hope she won't kill the male! I have a 3.5' male conanti waiting for me in Talahassee, I have to get down there to get it.

Wow, thats a nice setup there. Especially an entire room for hots..dedicated herper you are. [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif[/img] I've seen a few cottonmouths down in Mississippi (Summer house on the backbays of the mississippi river, near Biloxi/Gulfport) but never that large..but I have had a few close encounters with those suckers myself..those and some crocs..my bro search out the smallest little bayou we can find and go hunting on the sea doo's..then we find whatever and high tail it out of there! I can't wait till we find a 10 foot croc on our back lawn..my sisters would freak! [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif[/img]

We are planning a trip to a Snake handling church this summer. I hope to get some good photos. Most of them I am going to take in B&W. Should be interesting. I know about a half dozen snake handlers, so tracking down a church should not be difi-"cult". [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img] I will try to find a pic of Pre-K to post.
