mangrove snakes and vine snakes
Hi all, been awhile since my last post. these 2 species are incredibly beautiful and if i did my research right they are rear fanged. now on to my question. I can't remember if u actually need a permit for either one of these 2 species. i think the Ahaetulla prasina i might need one but no so sure about the Boiga dendrophila... if anyone could tell me it would be greatly apprreciated..
my local fish and game doesn't have a clue as to what im talking about so they couldn't tell me if i did or not.
thanks in advance,
Dakota Welch

Re: mangrove snakes and vine snakes
Im intrested too??
Think here you dont need a licence to keep these guys...but..i could well be wrong??
Because they are Rear fanged they really have to have a good chew on you to get any venom in....Not like a true front fanged Cobra..say??
The venom is used mainly for Toads and Frogs so is not absoloutly deadly...some people can have a bad allergic reaction to it though.
Post us what you found out, if you get back to this thread??

Re: mangrove snakes and vine snakes
sorry for the late reply. according to fish and game and a few local pet shop owners had to do alot of diggin around to find anything :/ when they made it illegal to own venomous reptiles without permit, these 2 species were not put on the list of venomous reptiles.. not sure as to why it happend that way but it plays in my favor so i'm not complaining lol.
i also learned if i decided to move to a different state i should check out the laws there b4 bringing them with me.
that is all i know for now
