It's rather silly to be honest.
Everyone who owns any sort of pet knows the risks of them(besides what, average fish? Excluding things like lionfish and pirahanas...)
Rodents bite, dogs bite, cats scratch, horses can buck and kick and break bones. People who work with sharks or killer whales know the risks... and I know that gets a little off the topic of owning pets. But while we're at it...
Motorcycle riders know risks(you don't see them banning those!), extreme sport people know risks(they sign waivers too). The point is, every single thing in life is risky at all times. People's hobbies, pets, meteors falling from the sky and ending you..? List goes on and on.
They really should issue licences to us and quit their moaning.
I mean, sure... sucks that he may be losing his hand. It's life. He could have lost it getting it stuck in athe garbage desposal or something.
Accidents happen! Hellooooo~?!!
And pet discrimination is rediculous.

and before trying to change the bedding in a vipers cage wouldnt common sense tell you in ur head REMOVE THE SNAKE. they aint like a ball or boa you get bite and walk away all find and dandy. sounds like he had no common sense and why destroy a viper when its simply being a viper.
