Re: Albino atrox
That's neat..
.
A lot of cool-looking and weird Western Diamondbacks have come out of the wild.. not that they are more prone to mutation than other snakes! the thing is they have a huge natural range and are very common and prolific.. add to that the organized collection of the type and that's a recipe for seeing new things..
.
This one was found in Willacy county, Texas.. it appears to be Xanthic? neat purple tongue..
.

.
New rules by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department have rediuced the wild take of these animals.. and so new 'oddities' will also become more rare.
.
My favorites are still just plain Atrox.. the bigger the better!
.

.
Have fun, play safe!

Baby albino Western Diamond. $225. We got the tongs and hook to handle today. The snake will be within a few weeks probably.

Do you have any experience with HOTS?
Not to question your skills but venomous are not something to take lightly.
I spent over a year mentoring with one of the most knowledgable venomous keepers in the country before getting my first hot.
Please make sure you are properly trained before getting into this end of the hobby.
I hope not to come across as a jerk, It's just that I would hate to see someone getting tagged due to not being properly prepared to keep these wonderfull yet dangerous reptiles. It would make for a pretty bad day.
Peace

Re: Albino atrox
Yeah my friend has experience with hots. He's caught rattlers before. Didn't train with anybody, but he's dealt with snakes that will bite at any chance, and he's purchased all of the equipment needed to handle. Practiced with the tools as well. Also, he decided we are going with a pygmy rattler instead because of size differences, and they're cheaper, it'll be 200 for 2 shipped.
