Puff the little adder..
tried to bite meee....
Hateful little hisser.
The stuff on her isn't mites, it's that freaking coconut fiber substrate. Not real fond of it, and will be changing it out for aspen soon.

Re: Puff the little adder..
That she is!!!
Their movements crack me up, like a fat earthworm, or at times, a spastic sand boa..
Then they get mad..
Head goes down, body coils into the position you see in the pics, but the body will be elevated and the head down and she's staring at you from the tops of her eyes. The true "Evil Eye"
At that size, it's cute. It won't be near as adorable when she's 3+ft long and mad as all get out.
Their strikes are explosively fast. Amazing.

Re: Puff the little adder..
Awesome little puff! I love the look of Bitis spp. but I don't know if I'd ever want one in the house though, blazing fast strike and virulent venom!
Sakara - LOL!!

Re: Puff the little adder..
"Pocket Puffy" lol
Yeah I dare you to put that little *censored* anywhere NEAR your pockets..lol
That is one hissy snake.
My B. gabonica was quite a bit larger than this when I got her, and she didn't survive the random outbreak I had about a year and a half ago. This is my first Bitis since then. I think this one will do much better.
You can't tell from the angle, and I'll try to get a better pic of their "ticked off" pose, but that head is angled slightly down. That's a sure sign she's ready to rock.
