I feel the same way..lol I can stare at them for hours.
These were on my "Ultimate Keepers" list for a long time.
Right now $$ is tight, but eventually I'll snag an A. ceratophora.

Re: Feeling Blue..
I love Squams, but there's something about their scales that bugs me...it's like they have different colored grapenuts flakes glued all over them. I have zero clue why this bugs me, but it does....I keep wanting to pick them up with something and shake them off....or iron them or something.
Anyways - pretty flake snakes.

Re: Feeling Blue..
I heart Squams!! Those two are phenomenal, I've not seen that color phase before. They're pretty high on my list of venomous I'd like to own when I get a bit more experience.
Great pics by the way, I never noticed on the ones I worked with that their head scales stuck up so much. Is it due to them being agitated?

Re: Feeling Blue..
Nope, that's just the way their scales are..
Atheris hispida are even more "roughed up" in appearance:
random pic from globalherp.com
These are down the road for me, their husbandry hasn't quite been mastered by US keepers, and I'm not going to get one just to kill it. I'll wait till one of the myriad of experienced Atheris keepers nails their husbandry and can walk me through step by step how to successfully keep them before I get one.

I think they are great snakes.
Exceptionally fast strikers, and just totally random it seems, sometimes.
