The Canebrake is actually pretty calm unless something provokes him. I almost never hear him buzzing.

Agkistrodon is one of the coolest pit-viper genus. Cantils are awesome.

Haha.... I know right? There are actually 2 reasons I don't have one. 1: Lack of experience (I only have experience with Cottonmouths, Copperheads, and small Rattlesnakes). 2: They are not legal in Ga. To me, Staying legal falls under being a responsible venomous keeper.

Gabs are illegal there now? No permits? A decade ago you could buy them there! Hmmm....

Yup, along with all exotic venomous. We can only have native venomous and exotic non-venomous. There is a permit but in order to get it you have to have an educational display that is open to the public.

Have a go at these beauties!! My mentor/really good friend took my friend and I out for our first snake hunt. We found 2 large Black Rats, 1 large Chain King, almost splattered a Coachwhip in the road (we chased him for pics but he escaped), and a 3 foot Black Racer. Given that these are the first 2 Copperheads my friend and I had ever seen that wasn't in the cage. They hold alot of sentimental value to us so we had to add them to our collection. If the female (smaller specimen) is gravid, the offspring will be released back into the bush. My friend also uncovered his first Canebrake who is believed to be gravid. When she pops, her along most of her young will be released as well. Only 2 photos, but I hope you all still enjoy.
