I ran into a baby western diamondback while out on a dusk/night walk. The interesting situation was that this guy had a BIG predator watching him from up high. You can't tell from the pictures, but this owl was monstrous...I was more scared of the owl than the snake! It eventually left the snake alone because I was there for too long...little diamondback lives another day. Sorry for the crummy owl photos, really bad lighting and hard to get near it.

Wow... I've had a few close encounters with owls... They're scarier than snakes for sure.

that would of been my second guess, not alot of places where atrox are still active at night this time of year.

90 in November is a bit more than I can handle. Though it's started to cool off the past few days...we'll see if that's going to be consistent.
