Throw-in an Indian accent and no one will even notice.
Hurry-up and get better! There are plenty of copperheads still in retaining walls that need to be rescued. BTW - What happened to the snake?

Yeah, I've heard morons at a local pet store (self proclaimed reptile experts) talk about how minor copperhead bites are. It's funny.
Get well soon, dude.

18 vials of crofab...that's definitely no minor bite.

Re: It's "just" a Copperhead
Sorry to hear this, also glad to hear your on a speedy recovery.
Have you tried to pull out any of the venom using hot salt water, and ice water. I know that helps on some bee stings, and spider bites, and also blood poisoning

Re: It's "just" a Copperhead
I have kept & hunted snakes since I was around the age of 12...never really messed with hot ones till I was around 16 or so...since then I have recieved 3 dry bites all by copperheads...all but one was a juvi....I do not underesimate these guys by no means...I have seen a few missing digits from herpers & unsafe handlers in the past all attributed to the Copperhead.... All snakes deserve proper handling techniques but any snake that is venomous is one to respect!

She got to stay in the wall until after I left. I had two guys over tearing up the stairs and wall but she was long gone.

Re: It's "just" a Copperhead
Sorry to hear you got bit, I hope you have medical insurance though. 18 vials of crofab = OUCH.
While it's definitely no bee sting, that's still mild compared to other species... Not to take anything away from the PAIN involved... That Copperhead was obviously PO'd, that probably is one of the worst I've seen from 'em.
If your in Georgia, at least you know it could have always been worse.

I would say it's prudent not to even post the images on the forum, horrid and disgusting to say the least.

Re: It's "just" a Copperhead
Shakespear. Sorry you had to go through all that. Now that's a story about the one that got away.
I can just see the Farside commic of the snake sitting reading your book and bragging about how she got you.

Thanks for the information. I wonder if the snake gave you a massive dose of venom because it was protecting itself and offspring? Is there an increase in venom delivered between gravid females and non-gravid females? Time for a literature search....
How are you feeling? Have you regained full movement of your fingers and hand?
