I am looking for information about the Fea's Viper. (Care, feeding, temps, substrate, etc.) There is not much information on the internet about Fea's. I am hoping that at least one of you might have experience with this species and could offer some advice. I have a pair coming soon and I would like to know as much as possible before they get here.

Thanks,
Chad

My understanding is that they are one of the most difficult hots to keep. I think they need very cool temps, like int he 60's. i will get the email address of a guy in Hong King for you that has kept them successfully.

OK, I guess I was off a little. They do need to stay cool. 72 cool, 78-80 hot. Six inches of soil and moss. 2 water bowls at surface level changed every 2 days. May have to start it on baby bird food.

This is information from someone else, I am just relaying it. i have never kept them. Actually I don't think I have ever seen one personaly.

Try contacting Corey Sawyer, he gets LTC and fresh imports (dont bother unless you are very confident in your abilities).
He may be a good resource to try,

if you go to the ks.com classifieds, he posts in the venomous classifieds often, so just look for his name.

I have talked to people who have worked with this species, and I get the same response from just about everyone,
they are tricky to get going.

Thanks for the information. I have only had contact with one fea's. I good friend of mine had one. We had to force feed it veal baby food with a pinkie pump. It lived for a while but it finally rolled on him. I am not sure what fea's eat in the wild. I can't seem to find that information anywhere. I will shoot an email to Corey and see what he knows. Thanks again.

Chad
