Seriously though, it's mostly the camera. Buy a good one, with good glass, use good light, and you can't go wrong. Although the hots tend to disagree with it, and keep you busy putting them back, more then taking pictures. LOL
Thanks for the comps!

You take great pictures! What camera model do you use?

Re: A native Texan
See, now that's the lepidus I am used to seeing, even if they have been KOR. Maybe more grey then blue, but obviously a lepidus.
I use a Nikon D-50. I throw away a lot more pictures then I keep though. Good thing it's digital or I'd be broke from developing the film. Need good lights is what I need.
Thanks again for the comps. Glad to share with people.

Re: A native Texan
If you've got a lighting problem, try buying a new flash. A 'soft' flash is the best for more natural looking pictures.
Lights are great for studio work, but field work can be trisksy, especially when the critters don't want to wait for a lighting set-up.
Here's some basic info on external flash.

Re: A native Texan
Thanks for the link Chelsy. Part of the reason I haven't made my move is the toss up between an actual flash, or good lighting. I do most of my shooting indoors if I can, sometimes out in the yard. So lights are best for that, and not too much trouble.
Been looking at the Speedlights. Just can't decide which to get. Just when you think you got one, they make a new 900 model to think about. LOL
