Re: Bush viper goes missing again in Moody Gardens
Maybe they need to "snakeproof" their enclosures more? And/or "peopleproof" them more as well?

Re: Bush viper goes missing again in Moody Gardens
Yea, I'd say they need to re-do their enclosures. And 10 inches? He could be anywhere. I'd be mighty careful at Moody Gardens if I went. Maybe one of the larger snakes ate him?

Re: Bush viper goes missing again in Moody Gardens
Jeez. That snake could be anywhere, including stolen....they said that they didn't understand why someone would have stolen it....do they not realise that people keep venemous snakes? *sigh* Also, did anyone notice that they called him "poisonous"? Idiots. He is venemous!

Re: Bush viper goes missing again in Moody Gardens
This makes no sense
They feel comfortable that the snake is not there," Hamachek said
First off, you cannot be sure that a 10" snake is anywhere!
... they discovered that the hasp holding the padlock to the snake exhibit appeared to have been tampered with...
...however, that she has not ruled out the possibility that someone carelessly left the enclosure door open...
so, "tampered with" means it wasn't locked.
This guy is going to turn up later, just watch.

I just hope he doesn't 'turn up' by biting someone.

Re: Bush viper goes missing again in Moody Gardens
Not good for responsible hots keepers. Or every other reptile keeper, heck even any animal keeper that is generalized.
