I have lost 2 snakes in brumation!!!!! I lost a 5' Diamondback and a 3 foot Cottonmouth (PK's boyfriend)!!!!
Let's have 40 degrees one day and 70 the next! Poor snakes never got a chance to shut down for the winter. Don't know what the baby situation will look like this year 'cause EVERYTHING is getting warmed back up and put back into rotation.
UGGH!!! What a crappy Christmas present!

Ugh! That sucks man. I can't figure out a way to brumate anything here. Maybe you should buy an old used fridge...set it to 50 degrees and use that. Just don't forget to open the door once a day to let a little air in. Fernando brumates in his fridge.....right a long with the ham, eggs and soda lol. If I had a place for an extra fridge, I think that's what I would do.

It would take several fridges for me. Winter is such a tricky time for snakes. well, everything got moved back to the hot room and is going to warm up for about a week before I put them back in cages. Just realized............... I do not have enough cages! Guess it is time to get more Precisions

Could you not in the future keep them over some ice? Or perhaps in a ventilated cooler with a small cold pack?
I'm really sorry to hear you lost those animals.

Although i am quite the newb here...
I had an idea that just might permanently fix your dilemma. ( Don't they all, ).
This would of course require a window mounted ac unit,
controlled by an in line power cut off determined by a thermostat.
Just a thought. cya's

That is a good idea and I know many people that brumate that way. Unfortunately my Hot Room does not have a window for it
