Re: Cottonmouth - 6 months old
Very nice shots, BW! Is there a reason for the wide variety in diet?

Most snakes are actually generalist hunters. Cottons will eat ANYTHING. They will scrape up dead frogs off the road, raid chicken houses for chicks, take fish off stringers, etc. I am trying to add a bit more variety to my snakes' diets to mimic a more natural menu. Kings, Cottons, Copperheads, Corns, Ratsnakes, Canebrakes, Indigos, and gators all LOVE chicks.
My feeder freezer includes:
Rats, mice, Chicks, Quail, Frogs, Toads, Lizards, Snakes, Salamanders, Voles, African Pygmy Mice, Gerbils, Trout, Silversides, Croakers, Catfish, Snails, Crickets (yes you can use f/t bugs on some herps), and on occasion Chipmunks, Squirrels, Etc.
