I've managed to cover almost every single viper species found in Peninsular Malaysia, with the exception of all the Popeia subspecies and c.venustus. Here's a round-up.
Malayan pit-viper - C.rhodostoma. And as I always have to say, this species has killed the most people in Malaysia, although fatal bites from snakes are few each year.

T. hageni - they call it the indonesian pit viper but it's rather abundant in numbers here as well in P. Malaysia.

Shore pit-viper - green phase.

Shore pit-viper - orange phase. On another note, there are few black/purple phases in P. Malaysia. Almost all of them are found in Singapore.

Pope's pit viper - this one is p. inornata.

Ovophis monticola, or mountain pit-viper.

Monticola juvenile.

T. borneensis, or Borneon pit-viper. I got this from a major exporter, but there are reports that they are found in P. Malaysia as well.

This photo's quite old but it's a wagler female I caught while herping.

A male wagleri. To call them temple pit-viper is an insult as that's where most of the country's wagleris die each year in the 'famous' Penang snake temple due to intense incense smoke, force-feeding and removal of their fangs. For a time, the Penang snake temple guy stopped stocking the wagleris there but I hear he's back to his old tricks. He's a nice guy but then these snakes attract visitors so what can I say...

Now can you guess which of these snakes bit me?
Regards
