HMMM....... Why is this. You tell this to the underwieght boas I have gotten. They should not eat unless they eat F/T for me. Or how about that baby ball python? How about baby dums.

I have fed live for over 15 years. Yes I feed F/T to the ones that will eat them. But I am not going to let an animal not eat for weeks just to feed F/T. EVEN BW has snakes that will not eat F/T when you deal with as many animals as some of us you come accrossed these animals.

You are a boa person I will tell you about something.

I got a boa. She was underwieght. I mean bad. The person that gave her to me said she would not eat. I said fine I would take her and see what I could do. I tried a F/T rat 2 days after I got her. No go. I tried again. ME THINKING there is no way she could even kill a live rat. So I went and stunned one. Still no go I thought it is going to be a force feed but would she make it through?

NO I TRIED my method I have posted many times. I held the rat buy the head and offered live. GUESS WHAT. she ate. and she only ate live. called the person a month later to say hey she is going to be fine. She also had an RI. but that is an easy fix. But how does she fight an RI when sh ei snot eating? you know.

There is a line. I walk this line saying F/T is better to feed when ever you can but live is not as bad as some say.

But to call me lazy and uncaring is wrong.

Also I am not trying to start a fiught loiuse. I really liek you and think your heart is in the right place.

I just hate to see these comments. That is all.

F/T has killed. the only way to be 100% sure is to raise your own mice. Gas them. Bag them. freeze them.

I spend more on F/T then I do live.

I have a baby JCP here. The female was eating anything I fed her the male would not eat. Remember me posting about how I had to feed it by hand. Well now the male eats anything and the female will only take rat pinks that are live. one good thing is that she is one rats lol. We all know that battle. I have sat hours with her.

I guess my point is when dealing with a large number of animals you see more things. it is not like having 2 or 3 animals. Sure you get that one that will not eat. You can give it 2 hours a week to try to feed F/T each feeding. But I try that I just run out of hours in a week. You know.

Did I say that. NO

But I said she needed the live to get going. In the very post I said I feed F/T when the animal will take it.

I am more of lets make sure the animal is 100% healthy and then try to switdh if it will not eat lets keep it eating and feed a live. Then try again another day.

And also calling people names that feed live is wrong. IMHO. There are some very very good keepers that feed live.

i dont want to fight about it either. i have talked to you enough to know that you really love your animals and you do what you feel is right for them.
