Black Mamba (Dendroaspis polylepis) Tanzania, 24 inch female.
Usambara Bush Viper (Atheris cerataphora) Tanzania, a very, very fiesty arboreal species.
Jamesons Mamba (Dendroaspis j. kaimosea) Uganda. The black tail makes this particular species stand out from the rest.

Love the bush viper. Out of all the venomous snakes, vipers are my favourites. I'll never own one though.

Envenomations from Atheris spp. are generally all bad. You will get localized pain, swelling, bruising & blistering and coagulopathy. It is a bite I would not want to ever get. Also, there is no antivenin for this species.

does it bother you to think that if one of your mambas bit you there is a chance you wouldnt make it to the phone. do you keep antivenom around???
they are amazing creatures though.
