Everytime you post I'm hoping to get another glimps of your cobras, although - I have to admit - the Saw Scale Viper is quite a head turner too. Beautiful snakes!

I always did like Echis; small, nasty, think they are 12' long, and always look surprised. Of course, you have to admire any animal who's bite can make you bleed out of your rectum.

Well, Echis evenomations are one of the worse. First, there is specific antivenin for the specific type of Echis spp. your dealing with. The general local effects are severe swelling , bruising, necrosis and so on. But there are greater concerns with the bites from these snakes, like gastrointestinal haemorrhaging, cerebal haemorrhaging, and different types of blooding clotting effects. These snakes are responsible for SCORES of human fatalities throughout their range in North Africa and the Middle East.
