Australia:tiger snake bite
Man in serious condition after tiger snake bite
A man is in a serious but stable condition in hospital after being bitten by
a tiger snake west of the Blue Mountains in New South Wales.
The 43-year-old man was walking with two friends in Wollemi National Park,
north of Lithgow, when he stepped on the snake and was bitten.
Ian Badham from the rescue helicopter service says the man's own forethought
in taking a beacon with him saved his life.
"A tiger snake is very dangerous and the man tried to continue walk but made
it only 500 metres before he collapsed and activated the rescue beacon," he
said.

Wanna bet that he was teasing the snake first? I doubt the snake struck out of no where.

if someone is guilty of teasing a snake in Australia they have to be pretty insane considering the sheer number of hot snakes down there

Ya I would say. But I just seriously doubt that the snake just struck at him out of the 'bush'. Isn't the tiger snake the one that only feasts baby birds about 1 time a year? Eitherway, most snakes don't strike when you walk by.

perhaps he stepped on the snakes tail by accident? Who knows?
Tiger snakes are interesting little buggers....as is most of the wildlife in Oz....
(why can't they build a Disney Land in Australia so we could go there instead of Orlando this year??)

lol, thats true but I still disagree. I doubt that he was just laying there and got stepped on. Like you said, Australia has some crazy wild life. So why would this guy be out walking in shrubs or what not when he knows there are deadly snakes all around him? If he was walking on a path and he saw the snake, then he would have had to mess with it. If he was walking in the 'bush' where he can't see the ground, he deserves to be bitten. Hopefully he won't do it again

Insane?? They have steering wheels on the wrong side of vehicles down there, so what level of sanity is actually normal in Australia??
