how could this happen?
i was reading a post on the venomous forum of this site and someone (i think JS) said that copperheads can have babies without a male. How does this happen

It was a cottonmouth owned by BWSmith (PK) and I never said there wasn't a male. There just wasn't a male in the past several years. Pit vipers are notorious for retaining sperm.

But it did happen with a Burm. And the babies were all exact clones of the mother.

While PK was Long Term Sperm Storage, the term you are referring to is parthenogenesis. It has been documented several times in Crotalidae. I believe the link Tom posted is the only recorded case of it happening in a boid. The Brahminy Blind Snake actually ONLY reproduces through parthenogenesis.
