I know that snakes will eat other snakes. But is it ok, or even "wise" to do so?

Actually, "other snakes" is part of the Coral's natural diet.

Does that make it expensive to feed though?

I don't think I'd make it the base diet of a captive Coral, but to be honest I really wouldn't know. Will it harm them? Not likely. Would I make it a habit of feeding that way, probably not. Most likely, rodents are the choice prey item for captive Corals.

Corals like to eat other snakes and small lizards mostly. They really aren't big enough to eat most full grown rodents. They love to eat the house geko's around my home.
Another snake that eats other snakes is the kingsnake. My FLa. and Eastern kings that I kept for many years while growing up in S.W. Fla subsisted mostly on water snakes and flourished on that diet. And since water snakes were so plentiful around where I lived it worked well for my wallet too.

Well that part I can't tell you. That does seem a bit pricey for food, but maybe the milk snake had died of other causes and he was just trying to make use of it instead of just throwing it in the trash.
Oh yea, a I almost left out one of the greatest snake eaters of all time. The Cobra! Which is the same family, Elapidae, as the coral snake anyways. Sea snakes are also in that family, but I can not recall ever hearing about them eating other snakes. But if they did it would be cannibalism since the only other snakes that would be where they were hunting would be other sea snakes.

That is what they are predisposed to eat. It's a healthier diet for them, actually. Kingsnakes will eat anything so you can keep them on a strict rodent diet in captivity. But to feed a snake that has snakes/lizards for the majority, if not entire, of their natural diet, feeding rodents can do more harm than good.
