Help Snake id please!!!...
I found this snake in south america (pantanal ) Boliva , Brazil area.I was just out hiking and happened to just about step on this guy.found out later that anti venom was about 100 miles away. I took pictures and the natives told me what it was in there language but i was wondering what kind it was...if anyone knew.. They said it was the #1 killer of there cattle out in the pantanal.Nasty little fangs. i found many snakes in south america i have another post here looking for another id ....Only one anaconda in the wild thats what i was lookng for ...it was about 9 feet. ....The bandage on my thumb is from a piranha bite ...ouch sharp teeth. but good eating..
Thanks B

I guess if you are looking for a common name...Bolivian Lancehead viper is probably as close as you will get. They aren't common in the pet trade so whatever the natives said it was...run with that.

Seemed logical to me eddie. I'd definatly stick my thumb in first to test the water before going skinny dipping.

bAh correction...they do have a somewhat common name although this is the first I've seen of it after a little google work...Neuwied's Lancehead
"Bolivian lancehead" was already used for Bothrops sanctaecrucis
