About 2 months ago I found a copperhead with a stubbed tail on the side of my house, I put it in a bucket and took it near a creek maybe a mile away, now I am sure I saw this snake this morning while cleaning up dog business.

Some people believe snakes have a good idea of the area they usually reside in and almost have it sort of "mapped" out. There is no real scientific evidence of this that I know of except for a few Biologists who have done tracking and movement ecology of snakes. It is known that rattler's year after year in alot of areas return to communal dins for the winter. Your yard might just have to be shared with the copperhead sometimes... just watch your toes.
