I never get to see those snakes, so the eyebrow and scale lines (mentioned by others) was never known to me.

Most venomous snakes I have seen in my life actualy look like they pack a punch. You ever actualy seen a rattlesnake?..
When I was down in san antonio for a couple of weeks I got the privilege to see a cottonmouth in its natural habbitat basking on a rock. They
are actualy quite curious and don't like to scury away in a bush like diamond backs do.
