Canadian Cat Takes on Cottonmouth
I didn't get to see this on TV myself, my Grandmother actually told me (had to do with snakes so she ran to tell me hehe). In Toronto a woman was working in her yard and she noticed a snake at her foot. From what my grandmother could tell me it sounds like a cottonmouth, odviously imported somehow. My guess is from a shipment because venomous is illegal in most of Canada.
Anyways Her cat jumped in between the too of them and started smacking the snack around. The Cat got in 3-4 hits before being bitten by ths snake! Now the good part.
Both animals are alive and doing well.. The cat was imediately taken to the vet and appropriate medical treament was givin and the cat is on the mend, no serious effects are espected because of the fast treatment!
And Finally unlike the incident in Walmart in the US with the Rattlesnake. The Humanes society was able to safely capture the animal and it is being shipped back into the US, my guess is to an appropriate zoo or herp centre? The women had said that if it wasn't for her cat she'd be dead for sure as the snake was RIGHT beside her.

When I was a farm hand, I found a cat and a 4ft snake going at it... the cat was winning. After rescuing the snake I took it out and let it go, the owner said it was a Kingsnake or something like that.
This was way before I even know the difference between a Boa and a milksnake

Re: Canadian Cat Takes on Cottonmouth
My neighbors dog was bitten a few times by a cottonmouth or copperhead (I forgot wich). The poor thing was in sad shape and its paws and legs were badly swollen. The dog is ok now and the vet told them that dogs rarely die from cotton mouth or copperhead bites.
