Very nice pic!!! The largest copperhead I've ever seen was about 5 1\2 ft long! That was in Cypress TX in '94, right after I caught a 7' Cottonmouth in my pond.

Beautiful snake, John. I love its eyes.
Pathfinder, a 7' Cottonmouth? BW has a 4' female Cottonmouth, and apparently, that is large by Cottonmouth standards.

Those are impressive finds, especially when one considers that the largest copperhead on record measured only 53 inches ( 4 feet, 5 inches) long and the longest cottonmouth on record measured only 74.5 inches ( 6 feet, 2.5 inches) long. Do you live next to a nuclear power plant? | |
