Niger rescue
I picked this guy up a couple weeks ago - he was in a pet store piled in a 30 long with probably a half dozen other uros. He's pretty skinny and I couldn't really figure out why because he is active and seems to be acting normally, but I think I figured it out. He's near sighted. He was getting outcompeted by all the other uros for food because he was having trouble seeing what he was trying to get into his mouth so catching crickets was not a real viable option. Plus, he prefers his veggies to be a day or two old before he'll eat them - at that point, they were all eaten and all he got was a few scraps. Now that he's in a tank by himself he's doing much better. I put a mercury vapor bulb on him, so he's brightening up. As soon as the weather warms up here I'll start putting him out in the sun and hopefully that'll help even more.

No, I took him to the eye doctor... of course it was his poor hunting. I put 6 crickets and him into an empty 10 gallon. It took him 45 minutes to catch them all. He'd lunge where the cricket was like 5 seconds ago. While I realize they're not most agile of lizards, that is pretty bad.

Actually you're both wrong, puttin em in isn't so bad, gettin em out a little worse, but those lazy fools will NOT clean their contact lenses! Bad hygiene to say the least!
