He sound great, even more so from this unreachable distance since he cannot bite me!!!
Seriously I would love to see a picture of him (take it from a distance or not at all - please don't spook him. These lizards are so fantastic looking.
Give him the right conditions, a place to hide and lots of time to get used to you. Sit by his cage quietly, reading a book for an hour or so at a time day after day. Only handle him if absolutely necessary. Get closer and closer to him gradually, don't spook him by sudden movements. Leave a worn shirt of yours in his enclosure. Stick with your program and I think it will pay off.
Keep other animals, dogs, cats, away from his area, also unnecessary loud noises, until he becomes more relaxed. Keep his tummy full!!!
