Please be sure you've studied up and have the proper environment before you get a uro. They're a bit specialized in their needs.

Ive talked with yeti enough to know he will take great care of his uro and wont get one if he cant meet the requirements
But I agree with you wreckwriter, anyone getting any new animal really should ensure all the animal's environmental needs are met Uros seem like they would be more difficult than your garden variety snake or lizard.

They're not difficult, just different. With most herps we struggle to get the humidity up, with uros we struggle to keep it down, etc.

This is a stupid question, but since they require such low humidity, are shedding problems common?

Not really. They constantly shed for the most part, dropping patches of skin here and there.

Hes been doing really well actually..I have a good site for him triciaswaterdragon.com or something like that. He dwarfs the lil guys at Petco and he was the smallest one when I bought him.
mshrmheadcharge aka Savannah knows a LOT about them and was quite helpful, but havent seen her online in a long time.

Have you tried our SEARCH option? There's a link in my signature.
Type in the type of Uro you have and see if there is anything on feeding.
Im not familiar with the uros...But there are some caresheets on these sites
http://www.repticzone.com/caresheets/Uromastyx.html
http://www.wnyherp.org/care-sheets/l.../uromastyx.php
that might mention the feeding requirements of the uro.
