You never want to mix any 2 species together, If you want a tank mate for him there are many things to consider. I have never kept malis. You have to get the new one a fecal test, keep him in quarentine(seperate from any other herps), and make sure you don't have 2 males or that the female is sexually mature.

Well I certainly wouldnt keep an iguana with a Mali if that is what you are asking...
For the simple reason one should NEVER house two different species together..Also their temp/humidity requirements are really different.
Plus iggies get really BIG. A small iguana CAN end up a 6ft male with a REALLY bad attitude..There are a LOT of abandoned iguanas in the world..If I were to get one I would adopt one. Just my suggestions

Thanks for the info. I'll take that as a no. i have enough sense to know it might not be a good idea but notice at pet supplies plus, they frequently have a couple of different species together in one tank. I'm not too familiar with reptiles. point taken on the adoption thing too. I read where turtles and iguanas are the hardest to adopt out.

Burms are harder to adopt out than turtles IMO. Most reptile shops you will notice care more about money than the health of their animals. If they can prevent having to bring in another set of cages by housing 2 species together, then they will
