introducing male to female uro what to expect?
I just found out i have a male and female uro never been in the same tank together.I dont know if i want to breed them i just got them for pets but if i decide to breed how do they act. stupid ? i know.but i put them together for a few mins to see if they would get along,the male stated bobbin it's head up & down and the female rolled over on her back and just lay there.then the malesort of started nipping at her.is this normal behavor for them to breed?I know my male is a mali but i really dont know what the female is does that matter?

If the male was bobbing his head, chances are he wants to breed.

If I recall right uros need to sexually mature which takes like 5 to 7 yrs maybe more tobe able to breed them

I'm not sure how old my uros r i know i have had the female for 2yrs. and the male i bought in oct.the pet store said he was a couple yrs. they thought.is there a way to tell how old they r?

What you described is courtship behaviour. The female rolling over on her back, is her way of telling the male that she is not quite ready or interested in procreating.
As far as indentification of the female, would you happen to have a picture, and if not, could you describe the coloration and any patterns on the back of the female(i.e. ocellations forming bands)?

Unless you have a whole bunch of uro experience, which your question suggests you don't, you should seperate the lizards immediately.

I dont have them together,I was just curious as to how they would act with each other.I'm not ready to breed,i need to know more about them before i do that.any info on the care and breeding of them is welcomed

the male would do alot of head bobbing and chasing the female are some of the reactions but age is a big thing

I have pics of my uros up now,my male is a mail,but i dont know what my female is can someone tell me.The pet store told me they didnt know what kind she was when i got her.

Pis are pretty poor but I'd say they're both Malis, Cirus is a male, the other looks female. Its really hard to tell from the pics, the female might be a different species, possibly Ornate.....
