This story.
Ok, I've heard this story TWICE from two different people who don't even know each other.
Here it is
This woman had a large snake (No one said what it was), she apparently had it out all the time and it slept in bed with her at night...
It was said that the snake had stopped eating and one morning she witnessed it stretching itself beside her in bed. So she called the vet and the vet told her that she urgently needed to get out of her room cause the snake was measuring her length compared to it's own so it could see if it could eat her...
NOW, I told these two people that this was a load of poop and both of them looked at me like I was an idiot and stated that "THE VET SAID SO"
I was like... "Gawd, who made up this dumb story...."
Has anyone else heard this? I was kinda shocked to hear it TWICE.
Ugh.

WOW. I have never heard that one before, lol! Sounds like a dumb urban legend, though. Have you tried to look it up on snopes yet?

Re: This story.
That is definitely an urban myth!!! I have heard this a few times, everyone claims the woman was a friend or a friend of a friend. Given the distance between yourself and myself and I'm pretty sure its a lie.
Although, if it was serious the woman very clearly needs her head examined. Why would you let a burm have full control of your house, apart from it being dangerous for the owner, I find it hard to believe that the house has all the temp and humidity requirements of a well set up viv!!!

Re: This story.
I found it overly amusing when I told them it was a ridiculous story and they looked at me like "You have no idea what you're talking about..."
But yay! I'm not the only one who's heard this... interesting story.

Re: This story.
I've heard it a lot. Just an internet hoax and a rumor. In the one I first heard the vet euthanizes it.

LOL same here, Owen. Heard it dozens of times from many people. It's just a scare tactic but if it ever did happen than the woman is just an idiot. Plain and simple.
And sleeping with my snake? That would be a big NO. Most of mine are so small I could crush them if I rolled on top of them and Folgers would be gone. Sorry, they aren't going to typically cuddle under the covers with you...and honestly, I love love LOVE my snakes, but that's just plain weird....

Re: This story.
haha, not only is that fake story dumb, but the lady who sleeps with their burm is dumb too LOL what kind of idiot would do that anyway? hanging out with the burm on the bed is fine, but not actually sleeping with it, not paying attention to what its doing
