I've been thinking of bucket or tank of some sort and then figuring out how to some way get c02 in it. If I can't figure out a way to get the gas straight in then I might just pick up some dry ice and put it in.

get a rubbermaid tote with a lid and place the rats in there after you get a nice mix of Co2 in there..The way Ive seen it done they hook up a gas source with PVC piping connecting into a tote, and let it fog up then add rats and they pass out within minutes..

yeah something like that. Put them in a container and then somehow get the c02 in the container. Either by putting dry ice in the container or by other means. Sounds like your paint ball gun might do the trick of poring the c02 into the container.

Were are they getting the source of c02 from? The welding places that some one else mentioned earlier in the thread?

for mice and really small rats, i just wrap them in a wash cloth and choke them. i cant bring myself to snap the neck, i freak out at the way it feels. for the larger rats.... put them in a plastic grocery bag, whirls it around your head a few times for momentum and WHAK on the floor. kills them.
im gonna stick with those methods till get a co2 gas chamber set up when my breeders start producing.
on a side note... one of the breeders i got is acting kinda funny. hes curled up and still,, not curked upo like he was asleep, but like he was dead. hes very much alive tho, he moves and acts normal when i touch him. is that ok?? if not, i wanna know so i can get rid of him quick.
also, is it common for male rats to be super aggressive to other males? Socrates refuses to stay in any cage with any other rat except the female rats. he attacks plato and the feeder im keeping alive. i dont want socrated to be kept solely in a cage by himself, or soley with the females...
and i had heard that male rats have a tendency to be infirtile... true? or not true?
except for socrates, any rats i find that arent producers, are getting Lunched.

i have an idea, might not work very well but seems like they could be pretty easily punctured than just directed into PVC tubes, at any sporting goods store lots of paintball, airsoft, bb guns ect run off of little canisters like these...just puncture the tip and the CO2 comes right out,
if you really want to try it I'll send you like 5+

I actually have a few of those canistors. There's a lot of force coming out of them, so i'm not sure on how to go about doing it.

I can't kill them myself, luckily the reptile store near me does it for me. Got bit once by a furry little monster and doen't want to try to kill it myself again.
