Giant Croc... Fact or Fiction?
As with most things, here comes the emails. This one crossed my box today and figured I would get your input on it.
This is what the email said...
Quote:
Now this is a Crocodile !
This crocodile was found in New Orleans swimming down the street. 21 FT long, 4,500 lbs, around 80 years old minimum.
Specialists said that he was looking to eat humans because he was too old to catch animals. This crocodile was killed by the army last Sunday at 3:00 pm, currently he is in the freezer at the Azur hotel. The contents of it's stomach will be analyzed this Friday at 2:30pm.

If it is true, its a shame they killed it.

If this were true it would be the headliner on cnn.com.
I'd be willing to bet that its like most of the current fantastic email pics, real pics, fraudulent story. Bet these were taken in Africa some time ago.

I thought it was a Nile Croc. They're the only ones to get really big that I know of. (Although Austrailian Salt Waters do get large as well)
So, toker, yes 16 ft is about average for a Nile. Maybe on the small size for a male.
