Snakes that sting you to death with tail!!! Haha
Has anyone heard the one about the snakes that sting you to death with its tail? I heard this one a long time ago. I think it stems from the Eastern Mud Snake. They do have a semi-sharp scale on the end of their tail. I have been poked by this many times while picking them up, but, surprisingly, I am still alive! I must have an immunity... Hahaha
If anyone has been killed by a stinging tail snake, could you E-mail me and let me know how it felt???

Haven't been killed by a mud snake, at least not yet, but I did hear the legend growing up.

I have be hit by a few. I live right off of a management area in the pascagoula river. Honestly it will scare you more than it hurts, it will poke you. The end of its tail has no stinger like a wasp or hornet. More like a barb, it will not break the skin. You are correct though eastern mudsnake. They are also known as the ring snake. The Old Folks say it will bite the end of its tail and roll away.
