are teenage mutant ninja turtles real?

Back in the big ninja turtles craze of the early 90s, every pet shop in Dublin
Sold baby red eared sliders. Every 2nd kid I know had one.
When the novelty wore off, a lot of people didn’t want them, and I heard of many people flushing them down the toilet.
Recently my uncle, who works at a raw sewage plant, told me of people who
Have seen large turtles living down there.
Could these be the red-eared sliders who were flushed away many years ago?
As we don’t have any wild turtles here in Ireland

Sounds like a bad movie plot! The teenage red-eared sliders from the sewers have come for Revenge!
