softshell

Okay i plan on buying a 55 gallon, and housing my own softshell turtle, until it outgrows it. I kno they need basking light, but is there a way i can fill the tank up 80 percent of the way,or do i need a part where he can walk on land.Just wondering because i heard they were 90 percent aquatic.filtration wont be a problem because i will have two emp 280 filter hangin on the back, and i will do water changes once a week.is there anything else im missing. Is there any places online where i can order a softshell to ohio.

Re: softshell

i rehabilitated a softy for a month or so.

Its good to have a basking spot no matter what. but I never saw mine use it. My C. serpentina has not been out of its water in the cage, I got it about 3 months ago.

Dont buy from turtlesale.com if you want your turtle anytime soon.

They burrow alot undersand so dont use aquarium rocks
