From the faciaal markings and spiney spots I'd say one of the Apalone spinifera species but I could not tell you which.

I just looked up the geographic range on the 4 species and unless you were in West Texas or Extreme North Texas in the Pan handle it is either pallidus or guadalupensis.
My bet is guadalupensis if I remember where Houston is in Texas.
Update, oops your closer to lousiana than I thought now I'm betting pallidus.

smack dab in the middle of houston (city) BIG lake across the street wher i see RES's and i saw an A. snapper over there before Im gunna let this one got when i find out what he is. I got my hands full with my common snapper
